Fresh Turmeric (Haldi) Pickle

Haldi (turmeric) is one of the best natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic and antioxidant herbs. Its popularity is increasing every day and fresh turmeric is available in most of the stores all over the world.  Eating pickled turmeric with meals not just adds taste to the food but also provides health benefits.  It’s very simple to make and can be stored in the fridge for about 30 days.

Breads, Side

Copycat Cheesecake Factory Honey Wheat Bread

We sometimes eat dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, and I always admire the atmosphere and of course the food, but the best part is the brown bread they serve. It’s delicious and full of flavors. I tried making it at home, and I wanted to share my copycat recipe – it truly tastes exactly the same. When you bake this, your whole house will fill with the smell of molasses and freshly baked bread!

Sooji halwa can be offered as an offering to God (prasad) and a must offering to Goddess Durga during navratri. It is especially popular during winter, where piping hot halwa helps warm up the body and reduces congestion. It is a simple, delicious Indian sweet dish. Try it out.
