minutesBhaturas are like naan, but they’re a little different because while naan is baked in an oven, bhaturas are deep fried. However, both are absolutely delicious!
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup sour yogurt (dahi) or more required
Salt to taste
2 cups oil for frying
Directions
- Mix flour, salt, and yogurt to make a dough. If required, add water; or dhai the dough should be a little hard , Spread a little oil on the dough. Put the dough in a box and put the lid on. Keep in a warm place such as the oven to ferment for about 7-8 hours. If the weather is cold, then it needs 10 hours. I’d recommend doing this either overnight so you can have the bhaturas for lunch, or throughout the day so you can have them for dinner.
- Now, put a fry pan on the stove and add oil. Take the dough and split into equal parts. Spread oil on the dough, and roll it out to have a 5-6 inch diameter, like a medium sized tortilla.
- When the oil is heated, roast the bhaturas on both sides, until golden brown. Cook all in the same manner.
- Serve with chole (check out my recipe for choles, too!)https://muditaskitchen.com/chanachole-masala
