minutesKhatti Mithi (Sweet and sour) Imli-Khajoor (Tamarind – Date) ki chutney is a must have for Indian chaats and many other Indian snacks. The jaggery, cumin powder, fennel powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder gives it a sweet and spicy kick while imli and khajoor provides it an unmatchable taste.
It can be stored in the refrigerator for 2-4 weeks.

Ingredients
Imli (Tamarind) and date chutney (Khati meethi chutney)
⅓ cup date
½ cup tamarind
¾ cup jaggery
2 cup water
1 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp black salt or to taste
1/2 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp Coriander Powder
1 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp funnel powder
1 tsp ginger powder
Directions
- Add tamarind, dates, jaggery, and water in a pan.
- Put the stove on medium heat for about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from heat, and sieve the mixture when it is a little cold.
- Add all dry spices and again put the pan on the gas.
- Stir for 4-5 minutes. If required, add additional water in the chutney.
- Add additional dry masalas to taste.
- Ready! You can store in the fridge for a week or more.
