Ingredients
1 medium size cabbage (patta gobhi) – finely chopped
1 cup peas (mattar)
1 tsp grated ginger
2 green chili – finely chopped or to taste
1 tsp red chili powder or to taste
2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp dry coriander powder
1 tsp amchoor powder
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin seeds
½ tsp mustard seeds
Pinch of hing
2 tsp salt or taste
2 tbsp oil
Directions
- Start a fry pan with oil on medium heat.
- Add mustard seeds, hing, and cumin seeds, and wait until the seeds crackle.
- Now add spices: turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt.
Mix together and cover for about 10 minutes or until the cabbage is tender. Keep stirring every 2 minutes so the curry doesn’t burn. Keep the heat low.
Once the cabbage is tender, mix in garam masala and amchoor powder, and cover for about 2 more minutes. Close the heat.
Keep the lid on for about 5 minutes.
Ready! Serve with chapati and paratha.
Notes
- Ready! Serve with chapati or paratha. You can also make a sandwich, just stuff the curry in the bread slices and roast in a panini maker.
