Mawa Gujiya

With Holi coming around, now is a great time to make sweets! One of my favorite desserts is mawa gujiya. Gujiya is a delicious Indian sweet with a crispy outer crust, stuffed with a sweet filling. It’s made with flour, sugar, ghee, nuts, and most importantly mawa. It can also have stuffed sooji but the mawa taste is better to me. It takes a little patience, but it’s definitely worth it!

Potato Pinwheel bites (bite size samosa alternate)

Samosas are a popular Indian snack. Sometimes we crave eating homemade samosa but do not feel like putting in all the effort to make it. Potato pinwheel bite is an alternative that tastes like samosas and fairly easy to make at home with little preparation.

Diabetic Friendly Vegan Breakfast Patties

Food trend, nowaday, is trending towards healthy vegan food with less carbohydrates, especially with diabetes and blood sugar prevalence at an all time high level. I tried to make vegan patties with lots of vegetables and used a small quantity of  chickpea flour (contains lots of proteins) as a binder. It is very simple to make, tastes  delicious and also can be stored for a couple of days in a fridge. The recipe below details the vegetables that I used but the recipe can use any vegetable that you like.

Enjoy this as breakfast or snack and require little effort.

Jodhpuri Mirchi Pakora

Jodhpuri Mirchi Pakoras also known as Rajasthani Mirchi Vadas is prepared with less spicy green peppers stuffed with spicy/ tangy potato stuffing, dipped in a thick layer of gram flour batter and then deep fried until crispy. It is a great evening snack especially on a rainy day and is served with tea and zingy coriander chutney or ketchup.
