Indian Pickle is typically prepared in oil and oil incorporates lot of bad fat. This pickle is a very appealing, hot & sour in taste and can be served with any dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound green chilli any kind – medium hot (As per taste, I used Serrano peppers)

  • 3 tbsp ground mustard seed

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder (optional)

  • Salt to taste ( I used 1.5 tbsp)

Directions

  • Wash chillies and let the water dry.
  • Have a cut along the length of each chilly.
  • Take 2 cups of water and boil with green chillies on medium flame, till chillies are tender (~10 minutes).
  • Switch off the heat,  add salt, ground mustard seed and turmeric and stir.
  • After cooling, pour contents in a airtight glass jar.
  • Keep in warm place for about 2-4 days till water is sour.
  • Store  in the fridge. Will be good  for about 1 week.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you not spicy remove inside seeds.
