Book published (blog post)

Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share that I just released my new book, Mudita’s Kitchen!

A little bit of my backstory. My journey started 20 years ago, when I moved to the US with my husband and two kids knowing no English. Coming from India, I was not a natural English speaker but learnt enough to express myself. At the same time, I knew it was critical for me to learn so that I could be independent.

I decided then that I would dedicate myself to improving my English.

Something that has always been good at though is cooking; my friends and family have always loved and complimented my meals. Thus I started a website where I could publish my recipes for young people like my kids who want simple yet delicious food. Not only would I improve my English but I could help some young people gain control of their eating habits with easy to make vegetarian recipes.

Starting May of 2016, with his and my family’s support and encouragement, I started a website called Mudita’s Kitchen where I started publishing my indian vegetarian recipes. The website has done phenomenally; I’ve published 200+ recipes and I’ve received tens of thousands of pageviews.

Since I received a positive response to my website, I decided to share my cooking talent with people in the form of a book and my daughter and I started writing a book on Indian and other vegetarian recipes. In 2017, I wrote the first iteration of the book and it performed well; I was featured in USA Today for it.

Since 2022, I’ve been working nonstop on writing and then publishing the second version and I’m happy to say it was just published in December 2022. It’s available here

Everyone loves their mom’s handmade food; I’m a mom myself and have an emotional connection to my food. My goal with this book was to create simple and easy vegetarian recipes with that emotion in them.

I’d love it if you’d check out the book on Amazon – it’s available in Kindle and paperback! And if you enjoy it, leave a review and share it with your friends and family.

As always, I appreciate the support!
