Ingredients

  • 4 cup all purpose flour (or bread flour for crispier pizza)

  • 1 tbsp fresh basil (or dry)

  • 1 tbsp italian herbs

  • 5 tbsp olive oil

  • 2-1/4 tsp or 1 packet dry yeast (8 gm)

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 2 tsp sea salt (or to taste)

  • 1 tsp black pepper (or to taste)

  • Topping:

  • 2 can pizza sauce – 16 oz each (Adjust to taste)

  • 2 small fresh tomatoes – cut bit size

  • 1 large red onion – cut into thin slices

  • 2 – 3 jalapeno sliced

  • 16 oz mozzarella cheese (adjust to taste)

  • 1 medium green bell pepper

  • 1 cup olive – black or green

  • Any other vegetable as per taste)

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Directions

  • Take ½ cup warm water (Not too warm) and mix sugar. Add yeast and let sit for about 5 minutes or until bubbly. Do not disturb until yeast is ready.
  • Take a big Bowl and add flour, all herbs, salt, pepper and olive oil. Mix everything. Add yeast water and mix. Add additional water (about 1 cup) and make a consistent dough until the dough does not stick and comes together in a solid ball. If the dough is too dry, add 1 tablespoon water at a time. Scrape the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead for 3-4 minutes into a smooth, firm ball.
  • Apply oil to the surface of a large bowl and place the dough in the bowl. Add oil on the surface of the dough.
  • Cover with a wet towel or with a plastic wrap (with some holes punched) and keep in a warm place for about 2 hours (or until the dough doubles).
  • Punch the dough gently so that air comes out of dough
  • Take the dough out of the bowl and split the dough in half with a sharp knife .
  • Take two pizza trays and spread the oil on the surface. Spread the dough on trays to make pizza base.
  • Cover the tray and keep aside 1-1/2 hours more to rise.
  • Spread the pizza sauce on top of base.
  • Add grated cheese and add vegetables topping. Sprinkle herbs and olive oil on top.
  • Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 475 F.
  • Now, put the pizza tray in the oven and bake for about 15 minutes.
  • Let cool for about 5 minutes.
  • Cut and serve hot.
  • Enjoy!
