This burfi is very tasty and healthy! Some people don’t not like anjeer, especially children, but this manages to make it taste amazing! This is also very simple to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup anjeer (figs)

  • 2 tbsp khus khus

  • ¼ cup cashew nuts

  • 1 tsp ghee or butter

  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk

  • ½ tsp cardamom powder

  • Wax paper

Directions

  • Soak anjeer for 2 hours.
  • Then, grind it to make a paste and keep aside.
  • Now, roast the khus khus in a pan until light brown.
  • Then remove the khus khus and in the same pan, dry roast the cashews, for about 2 – 3 minutes.
  • Now make a powder with the cashews and take a fry pan and start on slow heat. Add ghee or butter. When melted, add anjeer paste, and mix.
  • Then, add condensed milk and cardamom powder and stir.
  • Stir on slow heat for about 5 minutes or when the mixture doesn’t stick to the pan and the ghee begins coming out. Then, add the cashew powder mix and put the mixture on wax paper.
  • Roll the mixture and sprinkles khus khus over it and on to the wax paper.
  • Then keep in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or more if required.
  • After this, open up the paper wrap and slice it to make of pieces of any shape.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • If you like nuts or dry fruit, feel free to add to the pan when making the anjeer mixture.
